QRP ARCI endorses move to 7.030 MHz
QRP Amateur Radio Club International recently conducted a poll - open to members and non-members - to gauge sentiment on shifting the 40-meter QRP CW calling frequency from 7.040 MHz to 7.030 MHz.
Following are comments carried on the organization's web site after assessing results:
"We have completed the poll on the 7030 - 7040 issue. We have noted that over 87% of those that voted preferred to move to 7030.
"We are aware that this issue is not popular with all operators and thus we have decided that we will run both frequencies until January 1st 2007. We shall give all members the opportunity to offer their comments on the change during November 2006.
"It is the operators' choice where they operate of course, but if there is no obvious objections that are raised in the next few months we shall recommend that all members use 7030 as the preferred frequency.
"It is hoped that all members will use 7030 during the next few months to evauluate it." -
